FAQ
Pool questions we hear every week
How long should I run my pump?
In a Dubai summer most pools need the pump running 8 to 12 hours a day, so all the water passes through the filter at least once.
How do I backwash my filter?
Switch off the pump, set the valve to backwash, run the pump for 2 to 3 minutes until the water runs clear, then rinse and return to filter.
What is normal pressure for my filter?
Note the pressure after a clean; most filters run at 10 to 20 psi. When it rises 8 to 10 psi above that, it is time to clean.
How do I keep the water cool in August?
Pool water often passes 33°C in high summer. A chiller unit, shade sails and running the pump at night bring it back to a refreshing temperature.
How often should I backwash?
Usually every 2 to 4 weeks, and more often after a sandstorm or when the pressure rises well above normal.
My pool is losing water. What should I do?
Evaporation is high in summer, but a drop of more than 5 mm a day may be a leak. Call us for a leak detection visit.
