How a painting comes together

Painting has always been my way of making sense of the world. I start with colour, add layers, scrape them back and let accidents guide the next move until the canvas feels alive.

I trained in fine art, then spent ten years teaching before painting full time. Today my studio is both a workshop and a classroom.
