About

About us

When Jamiat Al Riyada opened in 1970 it trained forty teachers a year. Today our graduates lead classrooms, hospitals, banks and start-ups across Oman.

What has not changed is the way we teach: small groups, professors who know their students by name, and projects that connect every degree to real work in the community.

Whether you join us straight from school or come back to study while you work, you will find a place here.

Who we are

A few words about Jamiat Al Riyada

Founded in 1970, we have grown from a small teachers' college into a university with three campuses, in Muscat, Sohar and Salalah, and more than 10,000 students.

Our teaching is practical and personal. Students work on real projects with companies, hospitals and schools, and every student has a personal tutor from day one.

We welcome learners of every age and background, full-time or part-time, on campus or online.
