Want a career in tech? Start with these four skills

You do not need a computer science degree to compete for many digital roles.

Kuwait’s banks, telecom operators and government services are all hiring for digital roles, and you do not need a computer science degree to compete for many of them.

Data literacy. Being able to clean a spreadsheet, query a database and explain what the numbers mean is useful in almost every department.

Cloud basics. Most new systems run in the cloud. An entry-level certificate from one of the major providers shows employers you understand how modern services are built.

Cybersecurity awareness. Every organisation worries about breaches. Knowing the basics of access control and phishing makes you valuable even outside the IT team.

Clear writing in Arabic and English. Technical people who can explain a problem to a manager in either language move up faster. Pick one skill, give it three months and build something small you can show in an interview.
