Two chefs and a wood fire
Murad and Tawfiq still run the kitchen they opened in 1985. They choose every cut, light the fire every afternoon and taste every sauce before service.
Forty years over the embers
From six tables to a Riyadh favourite
In 1985 Murad was grilling for friends in his family's courtyard when he met Tawfiq, a young chef trained in hotel kitchens in Jeddah. Together they opened a six-table grill off King Fahd Road with one rule: every steak is cooked over real wood.
Today ten chefs work the fire, the dining room seats 120 with a family section and two private rooms, and our beef is still aged in house for 28 days. Many guests first came as children with their parents; now they bring their own.

Notes from our guest book
A calm, private family section, and the children finished their plates before we did.
The best tenderloin in the city, and the waiters remember exactly how I like it.
We celebrated my father's retirement here. The kunafa with cream was the perfect ending.
